Worth the Drive
These nearby parks in Sunrise, Plantation, Cooper City, Hollywood, and Miramar are well worth the short drive — some of them are among the best in Broward County.
FreeA combined off-leash dog park and equestrian facility in nearby Southwest Ranches with fenced-in play areas, separate small and large dog sections, benches, and shade. A unique dual-use park popular with local dog owners.
Closed Wednesdays 10AM–2PM for maintenance. Separate areas for small and large dogs. Horses also use this park — keep dogs leashed when entering/exiting.
PaidA 3-acre off-leash dog park inside the 669-acre Markham Park in Sunrise. Features separate large and small dog areas, walking trails, shaded seating, dog water fountains, and waste bag stations. One of Broward County's largest and best-rated dog parks.
Closed Tue 10AM–7:30PM for maintenance. Bring your own water — fountains can be inconsistent. Trails connect to the larger Markham Park grounds. Annual passes available at the park office (Mon–Fri).
FreeA members-only off-leash dog park inside Miramar Regional Park with separate large and small dog areas. Registration required — visit the park office with your dog's vaccination records to get the gate lock code. A well-maintained, secure community of local dog owners.
Members-only — bring driver's license and vaccination records to park office (Mon–Fri 8AM–6PM, Sat 8AM–4PM) to register. Open daily 8AM–7:30PM. Lock code required for entry. No more than 3 dogs per person. No dogs under 4 months.
FreeA cozy, well-maintained off-leash dog park tucked inside Christie Schafale Park in Cooper City. Features separate areas for large and small dogs, water hoses, plastic pools in summer, and shaded benches. A favorite of local dog owners for its clean, friendly atmosphere.
Closed 2nd Wednesday each month 8AM–12PM for maintenance. Open sunrise to sunset. Small park — can get crowded on weekends. Hose available to fill plastic pools and cool off dogs. Double-gated entry.
FreeA spacious 5-acre off-leash dog park at Seminole Park in Plantation, home to the Plantation Canine Unit. Features three distinct areas: a large dog run, an agility training zone, and a dedicated small dog area. Ample parking, restrooms, and pavilions make it one of the best-equipped dog parks in Broward County.
Closed Wednesdays until 12 noon for maintenance. Nov–Apr: 7AM–6PM, May–Oct: 7AM–8PM. Three separate play areas. No children under 12 without adult. Lightning prediction system installed.
FreeA hidden gem tucked away in a scenic Hollywood park with three fenced dog sections, paved walking paths through a wooded area, and a peaceful natural setting. Separate areas for large and small dogs with water hoses and plenty of shade from mature trees.
Three fenced sections — one with agility features. Backs up to wooded walking paths. Water hose available. Can get muddy after rain. Bring bug spray in summer months. Park tends to be quieter than larger county facilities.

PaidOne of South Florida's few dog-friendly beaches, located between Pershing and Custer Streets in Hollywood. Let your dog run off-leash in the surf and sand — about a 25-minute drive from Pembroke Pines.
Open Fri–Sun 4PM–8PM only (closed Mon–Thu). Fees: $5 residents / $10 non-residents on weekends. Bring fresh water and a bowl for your dog. Check conditions — sargassum (seaweed) can be heavy at times.
PaidBroward County's premier freshwater dog lake in Dania Beach — a fenced-off section of Tigertail Lake where dogs can swim, splash, and play off-leash. The only dedicated freshwater dog swimming destination in the area. Humans can wade but not swim.
