All residential waste services in Pembroke Pines are managed by the City's Sanitation & Solid Waste Division with curbside collection by Waste Pro USA.
The City of Pembroke Pines provides residential curbside trash collection through Waste Pro USA. Weekly garbage pickup, twice-monthly bulk item collection (furniture, appliances, large items), and seasonal yard waste collection. Residents receive one trash cart per household — contact Waste Pro for repairs or replacements.
The City's curbside recycling program collects recyclable materials weekly on your regular collection day. Single-stream recycling — no sorting required. Accepted: paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and containers (#1-7), aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles and jars. All items should be clean, empty, and dry.
Hazardous household waste — paint, chemicals, motor oil, batteries, electronics, fluorescent bulbs, propane tanks — cannot go in regular trash or recycling. Broward County operates household hazardous waste drop-off facilities and periodic collection events open to Pembroke Pines residents. Never pour chemicals down storm drains.
YES in your recycling bin: Clean paper, flattened cardboard, plastic bottles and containers labeled #1-7, aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles and jars (empty, rinsed, lids removed). NO in your recycling bin: Plastic bags (return to grocery store drop-off), styrofoam, food waste, greasy pizza boxes, clothing, electronics, batteries, light bulbs, yard waste, hoses, or cords. When in doubt, throw it out — contaminated recycling loads go to landfill.
